Hello, I’m Taryn!

Taryn is an illustrator, animator, and maker of things based in Somerville, Massachusetts. She loves bringing a playful appreciation of nature to her work with bright colors and a little imagination. With each project, she hopes to spark curiosity and wonder for our planet and the life that lives here.

Taryn graduated from Hampshire College with a B.A. in digital media and animation, with a splash (literally!) of marine biology. She went on to work for several years as a Production Artist at FableVision Studios in Boston, MA.

Since 2015, Taryn has been a full-time freelance artist specializing in children’s illustration and animation. She has had the pleasure of working with clients such as Nickelodeon/Noggin, Harvard University, Epic! for Kids, Scholastic, Macmillan Kids, Odd Dot, Little Bee Books, Bose, Ocean River Institute and more!

Taryn is a studio artist at Arts Collaborative Medford.

Testimonials

“I worked with Taryn on two board books (Shabbat Shalom: Welcome Home & Rosh Hashanah: New Year, Gather Near) and had an absolute pleasure! Taryn was very responsive to feedback, easy to collaborate with, and really brought these stories to life with her characters. My fingers are crossed we get the chance to collaborate again on future books!”

“Taryn was a true delight to work with! We collaborated on a picture book that proved to be a little difficult in the beginning stages, but Taryn's open and easy communication, professionalism, and most importantly her fantastic artistic talents, helped get things into shape and in the end, we couldn't have been happier. I'd happily work with her again.”
